Prudential - Fast Forward
Transforming retirement planning from a necessary evil into an inspiring preview
Role: Creative Strategist
Project Overview - Prudential, one of America's largest financial services companies, needed to inspire people to think differently about retirement planning. Instead of traditional fear-based financial messaging, we created an experience that made retirement feel exciting and achievable.
Challenge: Most people think about retirement as the end of their lives, instead of the beginning of something new, making it hard for Prudential to inspire proactive retirement planning.
My Strategic Approach: I identified that retirement anxiety stems from the unknown—people can't plan for a future they can't envision.
The key insight: if people could see themselves thriving in retirement, they'd approach planning with excitement rather than dread.
The Solution: We created "Flash Forward," a portrait booth experience at the 2024 Aspen Ideas Festival that transformed people's current biographical details into personalized, multimedia stories about their future selves. Instead of showing generic retirement imagery, we made each person the hero of their own future story.
